Meet Stephanie Christian

Senior Vice President / Independence Market President

Stephanie began her career with WCF Financial Bank in 2002 while attending Webster City High School. Over the years, she has held a variety of roles, starting in the Webster City office before transitioning to the Independence branch. Today, she serves as Market President in Independence and is a key member of the bank’s Executive Team, responsible for leading growth initiatives and overseeing operations in that market. A dedicated lender and mentor, Stephanie plays a vital role in employee development and training across the organization. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Buena Vista University and later completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her commitment to leadership excellence is further reflected in her certifications from the Wisconsin School of Business and the Iowa Bankers Association. In 2021, Stephanie was recognized as one of six recipients of BankBeat Magazine’s prestigious Outstanding Women in Banking award. She and her husband reside in Independence, where they are actively involved in their children’s activities and community service, including her role as Treasurer for Relay for Life.

Assistant Vice President/Credit Administration

Nick exemplifies commitment to both professional growth and community engagement. As the Director of Credit Administration, he brings valuable expertise in CECL analysis and crafting impactful board presentations. Nick’s foundation includes a double major in Marketing and Management from Iowa State University. His Certified Community Bank Credit Analyst (CCBCA) designation further showcases his continuous pursuit of learning. He is a driving force in improving operations through new procedures and guidance. Outside the office, Nick is an active and contributing member of the Independence community.

Meet Catlin Klotzbach

Ag/Commercial Loan Officer

Catlin brings a strong agricultural background and years of leadership experience to his role as Ag and Commercial Loan Officer at WCF. He works closely with ag producers and business clients to develop lasting relationships, analyze financials, and support a full range of business banking products. Catlin also assists with deposit services and is committed to helping clients manage risk and grow their operations. Raised on a first-generation family farm northeast of Independence, Catlin understands the challenges and rewards of ag life. His career began in ag retail, where he advanced through several leadership roles at IAS, eventually managing multiple locations and helping implement a centralized agronomy dispatch system. In 2021, he was promoted to lead the new Masonville greenfield site, consolidating operations across three locations. Since joining the bank in June 2025, Catlin has brought the same customer-first mindset to lending that guided his success in ag retail. He believes banking should feel like a partnership—when clients thrive, so does the bank and the community. Catlin lives just half a mile from the family farm with his wife Kaity and their five children: Nolan, Lydia, Vicki, Everly, and Preston. He enjoys live music, hiking, family vacations, and helping on the farm alongside his dad, brother-in-law, and son.

Meet Carol Smith

Sr. Loan Processor / Customer Service Representative

Carol was born and raised in Independence and earned her Associates Degree from Hawkeye Community College as an Executive Secretary major. She has spent her entire 26 year career as a banker which includes experience as a teller, consumer and commercial loan processor, and commercial banking assistant. She joined the WCF team in Independence in 2022 and serves as a Senior Loan Processor/Internal Loan Auditor. In her free time Carol enjoys spending time with her adult daughter, son-in-law, and their six pets. She and her husband love to fish the Mississippi River, ride and take trips on their motorcycles, and spoil their own dog, 12 year old Nugget.

Having grown up in Alaska and Iowa, Jill brings a unique perspective and a warm, approachable personality to every interaction. She genuinely enjoys getting to know the people she serves and believes in building lasting relationships based on trust, kindness, and exceptional service. Jill is a proud graduate of Iowa Falls-Alden High School.

She’s known for her ability to find solutions, answer questions before they’re even asked, and keep things moving forward with a smile. A proud University of Northern Iowa graduate, Jackie thrives on building lasting relationships and celebrating the wins—big and small—of the businesses and individuals she supports.
